Here's one for the Nightwish fans. While the rest of the Art Club were painting Santa, it seemed like a good opportunity to try out the water soluble oil paints again.

This one measures approx 8" by 11" and was painted with Artisan Winsor and Newton Water Soluble oil paints on oil paper. Completed in under 2 hours, and I am quite pleased with it.

It was pastels evening at Art Club yesterday. Meet Shaun who measures approx 11 by 8 ins. Conte hard and soft pastel were used on Winsor and Newton pastel paper.

Yellowstone Sunset

The theme at Art Club last evening was wintry skies.

This one was painted with Conte hard and soft pastels on pastel mat. It measures approx 10.5" by 7.5". A welcome diversion while I wrestle with finishing another project.

Cottage Loaf

After a break it was good to return to painting at the art club. This pastel was inspired by watching a professional artist, Joel Wearing, using pastels in quite a different way.

It was painted with Conte hard and soft pastels on Winsor and Newton paper, and measures approx. 11" by 9"

Jungle King

After far too long, here is another completed painting. This was painted with Winsor and Newton water soluble oil paints on a 16" by 12" stretched canvas.

A mad scrabble now to finish off several pieces and frame them ready for the exhibition.

Turtle on black

The theme at Art Club last night was "Acrylic painting on black background".  This one measures approx 15" by 11" and was painted with Atelier Interactive acrylic on Winsor black pastel paper.

Quite pleased with the outcome, especially as it was completed in less than 2 hours.

Gateway to a storm

To celebrate moving into the new studio, this one was finished off yesterday evening.

It measures approx 12" by 8" and was painted with Atelier Interactive acrylics on Bockingford paper.

The Studio is open

Finally the studio, or man cave as Jean calls it, is completed.

No excuse for not painting that masterpiece now.

Nursery Animals

These critters were completed a while back, but were only handed over at the weekend. They are to hang in the nursery of my new grandchild, due to arrive in April. Can't wait to meet the latest addition to our family.

They measure approx 8" square and were all painted with conte pastel on pastel mat.

Arundel Wetlands

This is another in my occasional series of  "abstract reality" paintings. It is approx 12" by 16" painted with Atelier Interactive acrylics on Winsor and Newton canvas board.
